Letter of November 20 con't:

appertinance (I think he means apparatus, it is not like him to misspell a word) Some people have all the luck.
At certain times of the year Galesburg can be a mice place. I love it here in the late summer.
Even the stars here at that time are beatiful including the North Star. Do you often depend on the stars for direction or is it your romantic side making an appearance? Did you ebver read much on Astrology? Some people take it really serious.
From the standpoint of bearty, vacationing or honeymooning and indulging in the activities of romance, Hawaii can never be out done. The Islands are most beautiful beyond description.
Hannah tells me that you are most talented in playing the Violin. I'm simply crasy about Violin music. What make instrument do you have?
This evening I gathered up my 8 mm film which I had taken in Hawaii and rented a projector from town. With all this we had an hour of Hawaiian highlights. The habby is lots of fun but quite expensive. Are you photogenic? With technicolor film I could really produce glamor .
Your letter is a master's Masterpiece and you do write good shorthand. You wouldn't believe it but my first job out of school was taking shorthand. How I ever stuck with it is beyond me.
I have complied with your shorthand request in telling everyone hello. they gave a party for Lorraine Perry this evening at church. It would have been nice if you could have been here to attend. Maybe the future holds a visit of that nature to our portion of Zion.
The evening has been well spent in writing to you and I hope you will find time and patience to again favor me with another interesting composition. The folks here extend their best to you and your folks,
Aloha nui Loa,
Edwin
At the bottom he wrote two lines of short hand . Don't have a clue what it says. The envelope also has short hand notations all over the back
