April 24/33 to May 4/33
May2/33 arranged with Elder Reynolds to ride down to California with a friend instead of going by train.
11:00 a.m. a short health talk by Dr. from L.D.S. Hospital
In my stay at the mission Home, I visited the following people:

(It is very difficult to figure out the spelling of the names and if they are Mr. Miss or Mrs. The only name I recognize is Lingwall who is a cousin, I have been in contact with a granddaughter of Sister Lingwall who still lives in Salt Lake City. I found a program of Sister Lingwall's and also a family picture. But I don't see an A.E. Lingwall, Geri do you know who that would have been?)
May 2/33 Gave a short something talk in the 2:00 oclock Public speaking class. Pres Hyde teaching us about the Gospel from the Book of Mormon.
7:00 oclock meeting Elder McKay lesson on Writers of the New Testament. Ate a venison dinner with Elder Neilson's brother in loaw E.K. Smith. McKay finished outline on the 13th Article of Faith as applied to missionaries.
May 3/33 Invited out to Lingwalls for dinner. Met Elof's wife. Was invited out to Thaether for the evening and refreshments were served. All set to sail for California. My last night in the mission home. Feeling bad. Said goodbye to President Taylor and wife.
May 4/33 Left Salt Lake City at 10:00 a.m. Said goodbyt to Mrs. M.K.Smith on Capital St SLC. She gave us food for the trip. Drove with Neil Stevenson, Clifton St. L.A. Arrived Los Angeles 7:00 a.m May 5/33. Ate breafast at Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson's. reported mission Home 9:00 a.m. Had dinner at home. Arrived here before train. Sent clothes to Laundry and sent to the tailor's.
May 6/33 Attended 10:00 a.m. mission report meeting. Bore my first festimony in the mission field. Met President Hinckley. attended baptism ceremony went to the church picnic at Clifford Park. Played ball after eats.
May 7/33 Sunday. Pres. Hinckley left for San Diego. Gave us instructions to attend Huntington Stake Conference with B.H. Roberts as main speaker. Also gave us instructions to stay here until next Friday and that we were to attend all lectures of B.H. Roberts and to treat all vacant hours. Spent all day at Huntington Park at conf. Fasted until 4:15 p.m. Sun. met Elder (Manterstl ???) , now a Seventy. (I can't read the name of this Elder)
